Priority 2 Mitigate against digital exclusion

Lancashire and South Cumbria LMNS has mitigated digital exclusion by maintaining face-to-face maternity and infant feeding support alongside digital options, commissioning optional free digital tools rather than replacing in person care, delivering services through family hubs and community venues, offering peer and telephone based support, and ensuring written information is available and reinforced through personal contact. Digital exclusion is explicitly recognised within LMNS equity planning, with a blended delivery model adopted to ensure families can access support regardless of digital access or confidence.

The Trusts have signed up to the Good Things Foundation, with local guidance in place to support women to access free, unrestricted data to reduce digital poverty and improve access to information throughout the maternity journey.
